Hello! I’m Aryan, a 17-year-old, 12th-grade student who absolutely loves Math and Physics. Everywhere I go, people tell me these subjects are “too hard” or “only for geniuses.” I disagree. I’ve seen how a simple question can light up a child’s face when they connect a concept to something in their world. That spark of curiosity is what led me to start Project Spark—to remove the fear of Math and Physics by showing middle schoolers how these ideas power everyday life.

Physics and Math often carry an unfortunate reputation- they're seen as difficult, boring or ‘not for everyone.’ As someone who absolutely loves both subjects, I couldn’t ignore how common this feeling was. Whether it was friends at school or kids I met while volunteering, I saw many students give up on Science and Math simply because they were afraid of it, or because it felt too abstract and disconnected from everyday life.
When I first started Project Spark, my goal was simple- make Math and Physics fun and relatable for kids, especially those who didn’t have access to labs and resources. But getting started wasn’t easy. As a 17-year-old student, I didn’t exactly look like a typical ‘Science educator’- so I reached out to NGOs with a little help from my mom.
What started as a small idea to hold a writing workshop for the children in my building turned into something much more magical than I ever imagined.
